A couple of Thank You Cards

CTMH Ink, CTMH Cutie Pie paper, CTMH Big Pink Flowers, Bella Stamp

CTMH Ink, CTMH Cutie Pie papers, CTMH embellishments, TinkerBELLA stamp, SC112

I have been wanting to post some of my cards or scrapbook pages that I have made for a long time. I finally got around to doing so. Here are two cards that I made for some friends of mine, Kerri and Deb. There were sweet enough to think of me for my birthday and took me out for appitizers and drinks. They also had a basket with 36 individually wrapped presents in it. Way cool!

This Weekend

Well looks like instead on going fishing in Seward this weekend, we are going to be staying here and working on the house or should I say Sydney's house. Well one or the other. But you can kinda tell who rules the "house". Her building and decorating of her house is happening before ours does. Oh well. Hopefully we can get lots of projects done this weekend. Unless we decide to take off and go to the State Fair. Next weekend we are putting our big front 2 windows in. That seems to be interferring with us going to see Charlie Daniels. But we will try to work it out, so we can do both. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I have been working on some cards, that I keep wanting to post, but haven't had a chance. I miss scrapbooking and making cards. My room is a mess. I need to try to paint it, so I can find a home for everything.

King Gerald

Grandpa Hampton was voted King of the Manor. Not sure what the event was. But he was King and this little lady was the queen. They both had a great time as you can tell. Check out the crown on his cowboy hat. This has been a little while back.

Sydney's April Trip to Oklahoma

Sydney with her Kitty which she named "Black"
She loves that cat and talks about it all the time.

My little Cowgirl at the Rodeo. She loves the rodeos and all the animals and kids that go along with it. She also loves her cowgirl boots, especially the John Deere ones that Aunt Teresa bought her. Until she out grew them, those were the only ones she would wear.

Sydney getting ready to go home to Alaska. She flew back with her Aunt Teresa.

Sydney with Grandma Nelson visiting Great Grandpa Hampton

on the day before she leaves to return home to Alaska.

Sydney visiting Nanny Gladys with her Papa Nelson

How big does she look here! I can't believe this is my little baby that I used to hold and sing to. Now she is big enough to tell me "No singing Momma". Guess she doesn't like how I carry a tune. Anyway, this is her horse "Lil Chigger".

A picture of Sydney and her Grandma Nelson in the grass. Not a very good picture of either of them. But for some reason I love the way this picture looks.

Another one of my favorite pictures. Sydney went fishing with her Uncle Randy and Austin at the Atoka Lake. From what I understand she had a great time and was a good girl in the boat. Here Austin and her are showing off their catch. When she came back to alaska, she would still practice fishing. She has a fishing pole at Mom's and Dad's that she casts then reels in. It has a rubber fish on the end of it.

Warm Up Birthday Party!

We made it to Oklahoma and started it off with a bang. At the last minute, we decided to have a birthday party for Sydney so she could celebrate it with her Papa and her cousins. It was a great time for everyone! We started up around 2:30 and went strong until 7:30. I keep joking that a black cloud follows me around Anchorage. Well, it finally figured out I had came down to Oklahoma and it rained pretty much the entire party. We had a Huge Water Trough set up for the kids to swim in along with smaller pools and water toys for the smaller ones to play in. All of the kids had a great time. Then out came the water ballons. It was getting dangerous then. Lucky for us Aunt Teresa agreed to be the target and all the kids threw the ballons at her insted of the rest of the adults. I only got hit once by one. It has been a scorcher here in Oklahoma, so no one minded the rain or getting a little wet. The good thing about that was that none of the kids or adults got a sunburn while playing in the water.

My brother Randy made a firepit this afternoon between working cows this morning and the party this afternoon. He made it out of a hub of a tire, closed off the bottom and added curved legs. It was really cool that he just came up with it and did it in one afternoon. So we were able to have a fire closer to where everyone was playing and sitting. We had a weiner roast in his firepit. The last time Sydney was in, they had a weiner roast down by the creek and it was a success. So we gave it another whirl.

Grandma Margaret along with a little help from Sydney made a Birthday cake last night that looked like a pond with fish on the sides and ducks on the top surrounded by grass. Sydney had lots of fun helping her out with the placement of the ducks and then sang herself Happy Birthday. Today she had plenty of help from her cousins and friends opening presents aand eating the cake. The cake was finished off in no time flat.

We had 32 people counting Sydney and I at her birthday party. Not bad, considering it was a last minute thing put togather. My cousin Larry and his family came down from Tulsa, my mom's sister Teresa was there, my brother Randy and my friend Amy along with her kids, my cousin Loran's family was there- Angie, Landra, Lana & Sam, my cousin Joe's kids-Hallee, Wyatt & Savanah where there, but they were busy working and we not able to make it, My Aunt Beth and Uncle Ray, my High School friend Kim Foster and her daughter Kallie, my friend Lynn Davidson along with her son and fiancee, some of my Mom and Dad's friends Gene and Melba Jordan along with their granddaughter Kacee, and Lawana. Mom went to High School with Melba and Lawana and they still get togather and do things. I think that is everyone who showed up. I probably missed someone. This is what I miss about being back home. Is all the family and friends that I am surrounded by.

See who came to my Garage Sale last time.

I am having another Garage Sale. Wonder if this fellow will show up again?

Coming to Oklahoma Next Friday

Well it seems that lately, the only time I have time to post have been on Fridays. Lots going on! Does life ever slow down? Thought things would slow down after we got married, then after we got in the house. It keeps going around and around. Anyway, seems like Sydney and I will be taking a little vacation down to Oklahoma. Not exactly the reason I want to go. But my Grandma Nelson isn’t doing very well and we want to go down and see her. Sydney is getting excited about getting to see Grandma Margaret and Papa and Black and Chigger. I am getting excited about getting to have some sun and warm weather for a little while. I can literally count on one hand how many days this summer that Alaska has had warm days above 70 degrees. Five. Yep that is it. I imagine that everyone will not believe how much Sydney has grown. I have a hard time believing it as well. So this time next Friday, we will be in Oklahoma. Can’t wait to see Grandma and everyone else!
