I meant to post this a few days ago when Sydney said it. But where does the time go.
Anyway, Sydney is really starting to understand that I have a baby in my belly. Becoming more real to her. Of course she is asking how the baby is getting out of my belly. Is it coming out of my mounth. I finally told her that the doctor would get it out- thinking this would pacify her, but no she wanted to know "But How?" We will have to revisit this a little later.
So I think it was Monday morning she woke up and here was our conversation.
Good Morning Mom, I slept in my bed all night long.
Yes, you did. Did you sleep well?
Yes. Did the baby sleep well?
Yes, it did.
She then gives me a hug and say "Oh, I better hug the baby too" After hugging my belly, she then says "Good Morning Baby"
Then she asks me "Mom how does the baby eat?"
It eats what I eat, I share my food with it in my tummy.
(after pondering this for a minute) She asks "Does the baby like Pizza?"
Yes
Oh good, because you know some babies don't like Pepperoni.
Later while she was brushing her teeth she proceeded to tell me-
"I am going to save the world!"
Thats good, how are you going to save the world?
(Are you ready for this?)
"I am going to recycle"
She is a very loving sibling already. She makes sure to hug my belly and tell the baby goodbye in the morning. In fact she insists that Mike hug not only me, but also my belly and she makes sures he kisses my belly as well.
Things that make my heart flutter.
