Recent Cards

Here are some recent cards that I have made. I guess I had a creative spurt going for a little while. Maybe it will come back tonight. I have a few cards that I need to finish up and I am trying to work on project, that I might make into a workshop. Need to get the protocal done first though! :)

This is one that I made for friend of Mine. I jused the past Stamp of the Month. I think it is called Life Treasures. it is really a neat stamp. I used a resist technique on this one. Made several the same way. It is a little hard to see in the picture. But I was happy with the new technique that I read about.

This is Riley who likes to Drive a John Deere Tractor. I made it for my Aunt Teresa. I was late, so I put "I puttered around and missed your birthday" as the sentiment. She got a new John Deere Tractor last year and loves it. I am pretty sure if a man made her choose between the Tractor or them, she would choose the Tractor.

This is one of my Bella's. I sent this western girl and her pony down to my Aunt Jerri Rae in Arizona. She loves to ride her horse in the Jim Cannons (sp?) and on Trail Rides. I was late for her birthday too. This used the retired Giddy Up CTMH paper.

This is Riley, who is seeing the results of too many cupcakes. I love this little guy. He is so cute. I made this cute little card for my friend Dena at work. Her Birthday was in March and she does some wierd diets. But she gets good results. The light isn't very good, but the paper is so cute. it is all about sweets and cupcakes. My friend Suzanne gave me a stack of this cute paper. I love it, and now that I am typing about it, might use it to make one of my cards that I need tonight.

This is another Bella Card. I love the vibrant colors. As you probably know, if you seen my wedding colors, or how I dress Sydney. This is the Wildflower pack from CTMH. I made this card for Dena as well. It was from the firm and large enough for everyone to sign.

I think this is the one that I made for my Grandmother. She was 89 on her birthday this past February. I love this set. It is using the Daydreams paper and Cupcake Sprinkes Stamp Set from CTMH. I made lots of cards when I first got this paper, and I have about sent them all out. Love it, Love it.

I made this for my bosses daughter's 18th birthday. She works at our firm part time after work, and normally sits next to me. This Bella just reminded me of her. Using that cute lollypop-candy paper again.
I mainly use Copics to color my images. I need to increase my palette, especially for the browns, so my horses and riley will look good.

Happy Valentines Day to my Little Princess

How can you say no to that little face? Trust me, it is very hard!!!
My daughter woke up on Valentines day to her favorite thing- a balloon. Attached to the balloon was a green frog and hidden under the white cup was a cookie, along with a card that I made. It has a little princess along with a frog on it. It was a new stamp set that I got for some of her scrapbook pages. So it all ended up going togather.

She was excited about her balloon, but hasn't paid much attention to the frog since then. I love to see the expression on her face when she woke up and seen the suprise.

Artist in Training

I have been wanting to let Sydney paint. So I bought her some finger paints. We started out with paper and fingerpaints. She was really excited about it. But after we got started, she didn't really like how the paint felt on her hands. I was having a ball though. She is strictly a one color girl. She would use only one color at a time, then want her hands washed so she could go onto the next color. She kept wanting to use a brush, so I got out my acrlic paints. I was going to be working on a small canvas anyway. Last summer, I had gotten lucky and found a good deal on some larger canvases. My only regret, is that I didn't buy more. Anyway, this is her once she got the brush out. She did so good. I was really impressed, until we kept switching colors and she just started painting it solid. She had a really good time.

After a little while, I walked around the corner and this is what I seen. Look mom no hands. She was having a great time. I got my canvas out and us girls had a blast. I really hope that she likes to do crafty arty things. Like scrapbook, make cards, paint. Anything arty. She should, both of her Grandmothers and her mom loves to make all kinds of different things.

I Little Spy

I have started to notice that Sydney is very observant about things when we are driving. So I started playing a basic "I Spy" while we are driving to grandmas. Now when we get in the car, she usually wants to play it.

So I say "I Spy with my little Eye a...." and then pretty much name what I am looking at. She will guess then say my turn.

Sydney " I Little Spy see with my Eye" Another way that she would say it at first was "My Little Guy, sees with his Eye"

It isn't as cute, now that I am typing. But in person it is the cutest thing. I know that this is one of those moments that I will want to remeber when she is all grown up. She is really good about letting us take turns "Spying" stuff. She is starting to get competitive though. She will often say "I Win". Don't know where she gets that. wink wink

Mt. Redoubt Volcano Erupts

It blew again...After months of wondering when it was going to blow, we seen it erupt a few days ago, after going from a code Red, back to a Code Orange, it was put back on as a Code Red, as it erupted two times this morning, the last one being at 9:24 am. This last eruption went 65,000 feet in the air, about 10,000 more than the highest one so far. We (Anchorage) were anticipating that it was coming our way and my office was preparing to shut down all electronic equipment until the dust had settled, this morning. We were told it would be coming in about 3-6 hours. Now we are being told that Anchorage will probably only receive a light dusting. Looks like the wind is taking it more in the direction along the other side of Cook Inlet towards the Mat-Su area. See the below link for the ADN Story just released.

This picture was forwarded to me this morning by some friends of a guy I work with.

As for the safety of me & my family, we are doing fine and do not expect anything huge other than a big pain in our rear to deal with.

So this is just another thing you can add to the list of why Alaska is considered an extreme place to live. Blizzards, Freezing water that can kill you in minutes, -40 degree weather in mild Anchorage, Earthquakes, Volcanos, Killer Bear & Moose. :)

My Little Girl Growing Up

This morning, Sydney asked what our neighbor was doing. He was getting ready to go to work. I told her that he was going to work, & that everyone either had to go to work, go to school, or go to their Grandmother's. (she has not been wanting to get up in the morning and go to grandma's) Anyway, she told me she was going to be big one day and go to school. I said yes you are. Then she told me that she was growing up. and she needed to eat food to get big. I said yes you are growing up, but don't grow up too fast, or you will make mom sad & cry. She said, Yes you will be sad & cry, but Daddy will be happy and won't cry.

I had to laugh, she's got us pegged. She loves her Daddy, but in some ways she is a Momma's girl. :)
