Merry Christmas!

I hope that everyone is having a Merry Christmas!
We have enjoyed this day just staying home and spending it with each other.
Sydney opened her presents from Santa and then spent the rest of the day playing with them.
Mike & I spent the day doing our best to do nothing.
Sammy spent some time jumping in the pile of wrapping paper.
A good day for us all.
Below is some pictures of Sydney and Sammy taken recently.

The Countdown Continues....

Here is the pictures that we used for our Christmas Card this year.
We went to see Santa and got to go on a sleigh ride too.
It wasn't dashing though the snow -over the hills we go.
More like dashing through the parking lot.
Sydney was more excited with the sleigh ride than she was with Santa.
She did sit on Santa's lap and tell him what she wanted.
She told him she wanted a princess barbie. The she had this look of terror on her face.
She was perfectly glad to move on to the sleigh ride.

The countdown continues....
Hours until family arrives at our house for the Lewis family christmas on Christmas Eve.
1 day until Christmas and Santa arrives.
7 days until the New Year
12 days until my Parents arrive in Alaska
13 days until my Baby Boy makes an entrance into this world!!!
Looking forward to each day, but can you guess the one I am looking forward to the most?
Now go get any last minute shopping done that you need to get done.
Bake those cookies for Santa and make sure your Stockings are hung with care.

Trimming the Tree

Thanksgiving Weekend we put up our Christmas Tree and decorated the house, inside and out.
I guess I still do things backwards, so all the pictures are in opposite order. I always forget to load the last pictures first, so they will show up in correct order.

The finished tree with a few presents and Sammy under the tree. He likes to hang out under there, which is fine if he would leave the presents alone. But he likes to walk on the presents and chew on the paper. He is wierd- more like a puppy. He chews on books and paper.

Sydney putting ornaments on the tree.

Mike and Sydney decorating.

More decorations. She put all the poinsettas in one big group. At first she was too busy to help, but when Mike started helping she decided she better help too.

Reading to Elizabeth

When I came home from work the other day, this is what I found.

Sydney was having a sandwich for a snack and was reading to her baby doll Elizabeth.

It was so cute, I had to grab my camera to snap a few pictures.

She was reading Beauty and the Beast to her.

And I got there for the ending of....happily ever after.

Tea Time

Over the long Thanksgiving weekend, we stayed home most of the time and worked on projects around the house. Sydney got lots of playing time in with mom and dad. There were many tea parties this past weekend.

Sydney would ask her dad to have a tea party with her and he would say yes. Then she would say ok, but first you have to go get handsome. So he went off to get handsome and put on a sports jacket along with a blue tie. This went really well with his plaid PJ's and T-Shirt. I joined the tea party as well, but luckily for me I didn't have to get handsome.

The guest list included 3 jungle animals, two teddy bears and one doll named Elizabeth, along with Sydney, Mom & Dad.

Top 10 Things about Sydney

1. Her favorite color used to be orange, but now it is blue.
2. She has two imaginary friends: Bobby & Francine and apparently her and Bobby are engaged and she is getting married in Texas at Papa's house.
3. S is her favorite letter right now...it stands for Sydney & Kitty (Sammy)
4. Most of the meals we eat are the Best Dinner Ever....even though she hardly eats much of it.
5. Target is know as the Circle Store.
6. Chocolate is her favorite, because it is delicious and delightful.
7. If she doesn't answer you, it might be because she changed her name from Sydney to Isabella.
8. She is a great helper, but she said she wasn't going to change any poopy diapers.
9. She is unwilling to learn certian skills....like changing diapers. Her dad offered to teach her how and she said "Please don't".
10. She is taking precautions & measures to keep her baby brother who probably will not make an appearance before Christmas away from the Christmas tree.

Most of all, she is a joy and the love of our lives.

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. I am very blessed with my family and Thankful for them. I had a fairly low key day. We went to my brother in laws house for dinner. It was yummy as usual. I thank God for everything he has done for us. We are blessed in so many ways.

Most people are counting down until Christmas, I am counting down until the baby boy comes. 5 weeks and 6 day!

But because of the holidays and getting ready for the baby, I have lots to do this weekend. I maybe crazy, but we are having the family over here for Christmas. Then shortly after, we will be expecting to see the baby. Ok, off to do something productive. Even if it is make a list for tommorow. I think I decided to skip the shopping and work on other stuff tommorow.

Holiday Card Workshop

On Saturday I am having a Holiday Card Workshop.
Here is some examples of what your cards could look like.
Mine come with a little elf to hold them!
The Cards in a holder that Matches!

Eight of the 16 cards for the workshop.
Although this is traditional Christmas colors. I love the colors here.
Makes me want to go play in the snow.
Well maybe that is a little extreme. But I do love snowflakes.

Sydney & Kitty

Here is a picture of Sydney and her cat Sam. She got Sammy for her birthday last year. Boy has he grown. We have had snow on the ground for a week now. So his days outside have been cut down to practically none. I have noticed that he has an enormous amount of extra energy bound up. Tonight, he kept chasing his tale. The first time I have seen him do that. It was pretty funny. He is almost like a dog, Sydney will throw a ball and he will go chase it. They play with ballons and it seems like they play chase pretty well togather. He still bugs her some. But they are pretty good buddies.

Sydney is starting to take interest in her letters. But the one that she constantly looks for is the letter "S". She finds it on TV, on signs and everywhere. She will say it stands for Sydney & Kitty. Right now, I do believe that she thinks Kitty & Cat both start with a "S"

Even though he doesn't always do it (anymore) I am holding my breath here,
hoping he isn't about to bite her nose.

Mojo Monday #111

I used CTMH - Aspen Paper and an image that my friend Joann sent me last year
& I am just now using.
The snowflake is sponged with Creme Brulee and then covered with Liquid Glass and Prisma Glitter, as the snowmen are. Hard to see with my photo. Cuter in real life.

My helper insisting on having her picture with the card.

I haven't been able to participate in a long time, but I finally did one of the challenges.
Two weeks later, but I did it!

Our House is Sick

Well you can tell that winter and all the nasty stuff that usually comes with it is here.
Tuesday- I got sick suddenly and spent my Veterans day in bed. I finally felt better Thursday, looking forward to a good nights sleep.

But, Thursday night -Sydney suddenly got sick and was puny. She finally recuperated on Saturday. We finally got a mattress bought and Mike had painted a bed we got and we went shopping for sheets and snow suits. Mike and I set up her room with her big girl bed.

Late Saturday night Mike got the same junk and has spent all day in bed.

This stuff is nasty. It strikes suddenly. Each of us was busy, feeling fine and then it hit quickly. Pretty much just vomiting and being weak. No other symptoms. So I am pretty sure it isn't the flu. Hopefully it stops here and no one else, especially Grandma Pat will get it.

Hope Mike is better tommorow. We got tickets to see our friends son, Jed, in the play "the Outsiders" Well I just seen how late it is. I will be dragging in the morning. Can you tell it is Sunday and I am dreading waking up and going to work. I just want to play and be free.
51 days until little baby Lewis Arrives.

Grace Workshop

I had a Close to My Heart Workshop a couple of weeks ago and I am just getting around to posting the pictures of it.
First of all my helper- who was trying desparately to get into ALL the photos!
Looks like I posted the pics backwards- It is late- I am going with it.

Two page layout of a visit with my Mom & Grandpa Summer of 2007. Page 2.

Page 1

The layout togather.

Some of the cards from the workshop.

You get alot for your money with this workshop.
I was able to get both the Scrapbook layout, the 6 Cards, plus 3 additional cards
and an extra two page layout. I still have more paper to use and will probably make
some additional pages to go with the layout of my Mom & Grandpa.
Only if I can locate the pictures again. :)
I may be in trouble, because my scrapbook room is fairly clean and I still can't find them.

Halloween Pictures

Trick or Treating in Alaska can sometimes be challenging. Although you may not be able to tell, Batgirl has several layers of clothes to keep her warm, while going house to house. This year, the snow had not came yet. But it was a little deceiving, because it was still plenty cold. The little girls only lasted 45 mins out going door to door. That was plenty of time to get lots of candy. We started out going to Grandma's (of course) and to a few other people that we knew and Hannah & Sydney went to a few houses in our neighborhood. Then we ventured out to some friends, so the kids could go togather. They had a good time. There was one scary house where there was fog and darkness and someone jumped out at them. Sydney told her daddy that she didn't want any candy from that house. She was more than ready to move on.
Hope you enjoy all the pictures!

They are both so cute.

Trick or Treat Town

Sydney started dance class the first week in October.
Her first dance recital was held on October 24th at Trick or Treat town.
Trick or Treat town is an indoor alternative for kids to dress up and go get some candy. This was our first year. As it turned out, there were lots of dance schools who were showing off there dances. Stars was one of them. We couldn't believe how well she did with only 3 weeks of practice. We are very proud of how she did. She wasn't the least bit bashful either.
No stage fright here.
In case you didn't know, Sydney is Bat Girl, no the little Indian Princess.

Here comes Bat Girl to save the Day!

Happy Halloween!

Just wanted to tell everyone Happy Halloween! Hope you have a happy and safe halloween. Hopefully none of the kids go into a sugar induced coma! Errands to run today and then early this afternoon we are going to start the trick or treating. First going to a few people's houses who we know and then later Sydney is going to join some friends to go door to door in the search of lots of candy.

Anchorage is seeing a longer fall than usual. The snow has held off, but it is in the air. Looking out our window, we can see the snow is covering the mountains to the east. The temperature has started to drop lately. In fact yesterday it was Cold! The wind was blowing and although the temperature was only in the 30's, it was cold. I am hoping the wind will not be blowing tonight for trick or treating. If so, it might be a short trip out. In fact I need to get going, so I can try to figure out how many layers Sydney needs and how I am going to get it all to work.

So have a great halloween and hopefully I will get some pictures of her all dressed up here pretty soon.

Oh, the countdown begins. I only have 9 weeks left before the baby comes. So much to get done. Ok, I am off to make a list and to find clothes for Sydney.

More Birthday & Tea Party Pictures

Natalie & Sydney
Sydney and Brooklynn at the Tea Party last weekend.

Look at that crooked grin. I have a hard time getting her to be still for photos.

This was for her 4th Birthday. I can't believe that she is already this big.

They grow up fast.

She loves to play with these tiny Disney Princesses. They have all these tiny dresses, accessories and tiny shoes. I think she had them all except for Snow White. But she told me that was ok, because we could always pretend. She was so excited when she opened this present from us.

Try getting two of them to pose for you.

Out for a stroll in her Barbie Jeep she got from Deb & kids.

Ahh! Aren't they cute.

This must have been taken before they both decided they weren't BFF's again.

A group photos of the Princesses who came to the Tea Party last weekend.

They were so cute and had such a good time at the Tea Party.

Although it was too late to use it this time. Sydney's grandma Pat got her

a darling little glass tea set. We will be ready next tea party.
